It was the first reveal in print of the term "rocaille" to ration the style.[10] The carved or molded seashell motif was collect subsequent to palm leaves or twisting vines to beautify doorways, furniture, wall panels and extra architectural elements.[11]In the 19th century, the term was used to characterize architecture or music which was excessively ornamental.[12][13] previously the mid-19th century, the term has been all the rage by art historians. even though there is still some debate more or less the historical significance of the style, Rococo is now often considered as a sure time in the expansion of European art.
